«Grandma from Malaysia»? FIFA Checked – and Didn’t Buy It

In 2025, a major scandal erupted: FIFA determined that the Football Association of Malaysia and seven naturalized players submitted falsified documents regarding their origin.

The applications claimed their grandparents were Malaysian.
