Verifiers shoot documents in IR and UV spectra. Not just visible light – the entire optical range.

⚠️ Ordinary inks vanish under infrared. Security inks stay. If all the text disappears in IR – it's a copy, not an original.

OVI paint shifts colour at an angle, UV elements glow under the lamp. A file perfect in visible light is naked in the invisible one.

Under magnification a genuine document isn't text – it's a grid of dots. Offset printing lays a halftone with its own angle and density. It's the print shop's fingerprint, like ridges on a finger.

A home printer screens differently: different pitch, different dot shape, toner sitting on top of the paper instead of soaking in. Under a loupe the difference shows like day.

⚠️ A screen-born retouch isn't screened at all – smooth gradients where dots must be. To the machine that's not a document, it's a render.

An ID card has rounded corners. In a live frame perspective turns that arc into an ellipse: the camera looks at an angle, and geometry distorts honestly.

In a retouch the corner often stays a perfect circle – even, mathematical, impossible. The eye catches nothing, but the machine sees a flat render where plastic in hand was promised.

Same with the card's edges: in perspective, parallel sides converge to a vanishing point. Ruler-straight lines across the whole frame mean there was no shoot.
